Frequently asked questions

Common questions about submitting, reading, and understanding reviews.

Do I need an account to read reviews?

No. All reviews are publicly visible without creating an account. You can search, browse, and read as much as you want.

No. You can submit reviews anonymously without creating an account. Just fill out the review form and submit. If we add user accounts in the future, this will remain optional.

About 5 minutes. You’ll rate categories on sliders and have the option to add written context. Photos are optional.

Yes. Reading and submitting reviews is completely free.

Can I review a place I no longer live at?

Yes. Past experiences are valuable. Just indicate when you lived there so readers have context about timing.

Yes, but only one review per location. If you’ve lived at multiple properties or neighborhoods, you can review each one separately.

Yes. You can choose to review the neighborhood, a specific property, or both. The form lets you select what aspects to focus on.

You can still submit a review. Just indicate that you’re a current resident. You can update your review later if circumstances change.

Yes. You can upload up to 10 photos. They’ll be reviewed before appearing publicly to ensure they don’t contain identifying information about specific people.

During submission, select the verification option. You’ll receive instructions to upload proof of residence like a lease, utility bill, or piece of mail. Documents are encrypted and never shown publicly.

How long does moderation take?

Most reviews are reviewed within 24-48 hours. Complex cases or reviews submitted on weekends might take longer.

Common reasons include personal information about specific people, disrespectful language, unverified claims presented as facts, or content unrelated to housing. You’ll receive an explanation and can revise and resubmit.

Contact us through the site to request edits. We handle updates on a case-by-case basis. Minor corrections are usually approved quickly.

Yes. Contact us to request removal. We evaluate requests based on the review’s value to the community and any legal requirements.

No. Critical feedback is allowed and encouraged when explained with context. We remove personal attacks, private information, and off-topic content, not negative experiences.

Are reviews really anonymous?

Yes, if you choose that option. Anonymous reviews don’t show your name or require contact information. We may associate reviews with internal identifiers for moderation purposes, but these aren’t visible to other users.

For anonymous reviews, we only collect the review content itself. For attributed reviews, we collect the name you choose to display. For verified reviews, we collect proof of residence that stays encrypted and confidential. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

Not from us. If you submit anonymously, there’s no public connection to your identity. Verification documents are encrypted and confidential.

They’re encrypted and stored securely. Only essential team members can access them for verification purposes. They’re never shown publicly and are deleted when no longer needed.

How are reviews scored?

Each review includes ratings on a 1-10 scale across categories like maintenance, safety, noise, and overall satisfaction. The location’s overall rating is the average of all reviewers’ overall satisfaction scores.

Verified reviews come from people who provided proof they lived at that location. Verification is optional. Unverified reviews aren’t less trustworthy; the person just chose not to go through verification.

Look for patterns across multiple reviews. One person’s experience might be unique, but recurring themes across different reviewers reveal trends. Pay attention to review dates and specific details.

The platform is new and growing. More reviews get added as more people share their experiences. Popular areas or buildings with more turnover tend to accumulate reviews faster.

This feature is coming in a future update. Property managers and owners will be able to create responses that appear alongside resident reviews.

Someone wrote a false review about my property. What can I do?

Flag the review for verification. We investigate flagged content and remove reviews that violate guidelines or contain verifiable misinformation. You can also contact us directly with evidence.

No. We don’t accept payment to hide, remove, or deprioritize reviews. This would undermine the platform’s credibility and usefulness.

This feature is in development. Future updates will allow property owners and managers to claim listings, respond to reviews, and access aggregated feedback.

Contact us with specific details about what’s inaccurate and why. Include evidence if available. We investigate disputes and make corrections when warranted.

The website isn't working properly. What should I do?

The location might not have reviews yet. Try searching for the neighborhood or city instead. You can also be the first to submit a review for that location.

Do you have an app?

Not yet. The platform is currently web-based and works on all devices through your browser. An app may come in the future.

Not currently. This feature may be added if user accounts are introduced in future updates.

Reviews are added as they’re submitted and approved. New features and improvements roll out periodically.

Yes. Planned additions include neighborhood maps, trend analysis, property owner responses, and enhanced search filters. Core functionality around reading and submitting reviews stays the same.

What makes a helpful review?

Specific details, balanced perspective, relevant focus, and time context. Instead of “management was bad,” say “maintenance requests took 2-3 weeks on average and required multiple follow-ups.”

No. Don’t include names, contact information, or unit numbers of specific individuals. This protects everyone’s privacy and will be removed during moderation.

Personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, private information about others, spam, promotional content, and unverified legal accusations. See Community Guidelines for complete details.

Through moderation, optional verification, pattern detection, and community reporting. As the platform grows, we’ll implement additional tools to identify suspicious activity.
